Philanthropy Matters. Believe Me.
25 years ago, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of Cancer. I was a high school freshman and my days were consumed with playing basketball, getting good grades and girls.
More or less in that order, not Cancer.
For the remainder of the school year, I would no longer be in class with my friends. To avoid infections and possible delays in treatment, I would receive home tutoring and the local children’s hospital became my home away from home.
At the age of 14, my family and I quickly needed to rely on the expertise and guidance of medical specialists. As I’ve learned from this experience, there are times in all our lives when we need to depend on others.
The enCourage Kids Foundation granted me a wish. This special organization helped me and my family make happy memories, during an incredibly difficult time.
This was such an incredible moment in my life and when as an adult I had a chance to give back Encourage Kids Foundation was an easy choice.
This year, the enCourage Kids Foundation served over 400,000 sick children.
Now as an adult with my own family, I feel especially blessed to be able to give back to the organization that gave me such an important gift.
